J.E. Barrett, M.D, FAAOS Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon Hand, Elbow & Shoulder Specialist

Dr. Barrett is a Board Certified (ABOS) Orthopaedic Hand, Elbow and Shoulder Surgeon, specializing in all maladies of the upper extremitty and a leading shoulder replacement surgeon, one of only several surgeons in Georgia specializing in revision shoulder arthroplasty.

An Atlanta native, Dr. Barrett received his medical degree from Mercer University and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center and affiliated Hospitals. He is fellowship trained in Hand, Upper Extremity, and Reconstructive Microsurgery. In addition to hand, peripheral nerve and microvascular surgery, his specialties include arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow and wrist. He is also interested in treating athletic injuries, particularly of the upper extremity. During residency, he trained with team physicians and hand consultants of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Tech.
